DANFOSS

Multilec has had exposure to Danfoss hydraulic and electrical products for over 20 years. Although Danfoss is a market leader in Europe and throughout Australia in the mobile hydraulic sector it has only been in recent years that the Danfoss Electronic controls for mobile hydraulics has started to enter the Australian market by users such as OEMs and system integrators like Multilec.

We found there was limited electrical product knowledge and limited purchasing outlets within the Australian market, therefore our own interest in the product lead to Multilec becoming an authorised distribution partner of Danfoss Power Solutions product since 2022, specialising in PLUS+1® Electronic Controls.

Multilec Engineering Visits Danfoss San Sebastian Spain March 2024

Multilec Engineering recently attended a Danfoss Global Partners Workshop, held in San Sebastian, Spain, 5-7 March 2024.

The Basque Region is the home of the RCT (Remote Control Technologies) Factory. Our Management Team, Luke Johns, Dan Versace and Amanda Versace, had the pleasure of meeting with our RCT Colleges, who generously provided a fully guided tour of the manufacturing facility.

Currently, the Danfoss technicians are engaged in a 24-hour shift rotation to meet the ever-growing demand for the RCT product.

Global Distributors Workshop

Assembly of the RCT units commence from a build sheet which directs technicians with the assistance from a computer guided building process to the custom manufacturing of each handheld and box transmitter, these are then then matched to the required receiver. Simulation Software is then used to FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) the remote controls, a technician is guided through a step-by-step process to physically operate all functions of the Transmitter, which then the simulation software is monitoring these operation inputs to ensure the correct input is received and output is given, this ensures every system that leaves the factory is tested in its entirety. Once the remote controls have passed all stages of testing, a serial number is generated for each of the transmitters and receivers, fixed to the unit and then it is ready for dispatch.

The duration process of manufacturing one RCT unit is currently sitting at a single shift of 8hrs. This is the time from the initial picking of the components for assembly, then to the Factory Acceptance Testing.

Conducted in house is prototyping and periodic batch control testing of the IP ratings (Ingress Protection of Dust and Water) which entails water pressure testing, repetitive button testing, tumble and dropping testing and fatigue testing on all operators such as joysticks, paddles, buttons, toggle switches.

The Danfoss workshop was strongly represented by distributors from Belgian, Netherlands, America, Italy, Germany, UK, Czech Republic, Slovenia, South Korea and Australia.
